Join Horizop Pyramids Team for a captivating half-day exploration of Aswan, a city steeped in ancient history. We'll whisk you away from your hotel and guide you to the awe-inspiring Philae Temple. This architectural marvel was dedicated to Isis, the island's chief deity.
Philae was once the site of an elaborate Egyptian temple complex, nestled near the expansive First Cataract of the Nile in Upper Egypt. However, the construction of the Aswan Low Dam in 1902 led to frequent flooding, threatening these historical treasures.
In a remarkable feat of engineering and preservation, the UNESCO Nubia Campaign undertook the monumental task of disassembling the temple complex. Each stone was meticulously moved to Agilkia Island, a nearby location safe from the floodwaters. This massive undertaking was completed just in time before the completion of the Aswan High Dam in 1970.
Experience the grandeur of ancient Egypt and the ingenuity of modern engineering with us. Book your adventure today!
