Our guide will meet you at your hotel and accompany you to Alamein, a site steeped in World War II history. Here, you’ll explore the remnants of the war and pay your respects at the cemeteries, the final resting place for Commonwealth, Greek, Italian, and German soldiers.
Your first stop is the Military Museum, where you’ll get a glimpse of the past through displays of weapons, military uniforms, and tanks. The museum also features detailed descriptions of Montgomery's, Rommel's, and other vital figures' strategic maneuvers in the battle.
Next, you’ll drive to the vibrant city of Alexandria. Here, you’ll marvel at Pompey’s Pillar, a towering monument of the Roman period. Your journey continues to the Qaitbay Citadel, an impressive fortress built on the site of the ancient Pharos (Lighthouse) of Alexandria.
Your exploration of Alexandria concludes with a visit to the Catacombs, the most significant Roman cemetery consisting of three levels carved into the rock.
