Day 1 - Alamein & Siwa - A Journey into History
Your adventure with Horizon Pyramids Team begins the moment you step out of your hotel. Our representative will ensure your journey is comfortable and enlightening. As you travel towards Alamein, your guide will share fascinating stories and facts about your upcoming destinations.
At Alamein, you’ll step back in time to witness the site of a significant World War II battle. Afterward, we’ll drive along the stunning Mediterranean Coast to the beautiful bay of Marsa Matrouh for a delightful lunch.
Our journey continues to Siwa, a five-hour drive from Alamein. Upon arrival, you’ll explore the Old City of Siwa (Shaly), a place rich in history and culture. As the day ends, enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner and rest at the Siwa Paradise Hotel (or similar).
Day 2 - Dead Mountain & Alexander’s Temple - A Safari Adventure
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. We’ll then head to the Dead Mountain (Gabel El Mouta), home to ancient tombs like SI Amon, MSW Isis, and Crocodile Tombs.
Next, we’ll visit the Gara Cave, a natural formation in the Eocene limestone created by rain over 55 million years ago. This cave was a dwelling for prehistoric people during the late Neolithic period, as evidenced by the artifacts and rock art found within.
Our tour continues to the Temple of Alexander the Great and Cleopatra’s Bath, where you’ll immerse yourself in the rich history of these iconic figures. After lunch, prepare for an exciting 4x4 safari, exploring the captivating landscapes of this region. Our journey concludes as we drive back to Alexandria.
